Michael Anastassiades is The Designer of the Year

In choosing the Designer of the Year, Maison & Objet in Paris identifies each time, the finest signatures from the international design and decoration scene.

Michael Anastassiades was thus chosen Design of the Year in January 2020! For him, “in order to create a light, one must first accept the dark”.

Personally, I have always really enjoyed his creations, which are always a clever mix of retro charm and contemporary lines, doubled with great functionality. A perfect illustration would be the Captain Flint Lighting (at Flos’).

It is therefore with great joy that, last week, I discovered his installation at the Maison & Object in Paris. For the first time in a same spot, were presented 16 mobile-like luminaires; with these, Michael Anastassiades offers an original installation, which gives warmth and light to its surroundings.
