Pure Caribbean Luxury called Rosewood le Guanahani

I've just returned from a second, sublime stay on the island of Saint-Barthelemy. Ten years after my first visit, I was lucky enough to visit this enchanting island for a second time; and it was at the stunning Rosewood le Guanahani that I stayed.

This was my first visit to this hotel chain - Rosewood - which is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere as well as its contemporary and chic signature!

Rosewood le Guanahani is a luxury resort nestling on a 7-hectare private peninsula. It boasts an exceptional natural setting with white sandy beaches, lush tropical gardens and a turquoise lagoon. Having had a very pleasant stay there, I'm going to share with you my favorite decor features and my experience at Rosewood le Guanahani

The entrance to the resort itself is incredible! The omnipresent lush vegetation immediately gives you the impression of being in the heart of a Caribbean oasis.

The resort's lobby is located high up, and as soon as you step inside, you immediately feel an incredible sense of disconnection facing a true postcard combining sea and vegetation, transcended by a contemporary design with Caribbean touches.

In terms of accommodations, Rosewood le Guanahani offers a refined choice of 66 rooms, suites and Signature Suites, all recently renovated. We stayed in a gorgeous Ocean View Suite. All the tropical-style cottages blend harmoniously into the landscape. Our suite had a pretty exterior shell painted a pastel green, and offered a bright and pleasant living space.

It was tastefully decorated, blending modern comforts with local touches. It also boasted a spacious terrace with amazing views over the lagoon and gardens.

Here are the elements that caught my eye:

• the turquoise blue color of the pretty panel behind the main sofa;
• the elegant furniture combining soft wood, rattan and cheerful touches of colors;
• the carpets with their blue and white geometric patterns.

On the other hand, as I love experimenting with new flavours, I naturally tried out the restaurants at Rosewood le Guanahani, which in my opinion offer an exceptional culinary experience. I'll start with the Beach House St Barth.

Located on the seafront, it offers fresh, tasty cuisine using local products. We had an excellent dinner here, as well as delicious breakfasts. In terms of décor, the high ceiling gives the space an elegant look, with a view of the sunrise and the pool... and my personal favourite was the wall painted a Caribbean blue and covered with pretty little artworks.

The second is the Beach House St Barth mixed bar, ideal for a relaxed lunch or an aperitif. Indeed, its elegant and relaxed atmosphere invites us to take full advantage of the view over the lagoon while enjoying light meals and great cocktail classics artfully shaken by mixology experts.

Let's talk now about the experiences on offer at Rosewood le Guanahani.

The resort is nestled on a private peninsula with access to two beaches on either side: Marechal Beach to the west and Grand Cul de Sac Lagoon to the east.

Grand Cul de sac offers access to the calm waters of the lagoon, ideal for relaxing while admiring the panoramic view over the bay. You just can't get enough of it... We had lunch there during the weekend, when the hotel organized a tasty and varied buffet.

Marechal beach, meanwhile, opens out onto a more traditional side of the peninsula. The splendid ocean views provide an idyllic backdrop for lazy days on the beach. A particular note is the excellent beach service provided by a cheerful and dynamic team.

Rosewood le Guanahani also has a tennis court with a top-quality synthetic grass surface that can be played day or night thanks to excellent lighting. And let's not forget to mention that the resort offers non-motorized water sports (kayaks, paddle, sailing, etc.) as well as scuba diving.

At the end of my stay, I made a point of taking full advantage of a moment of relaxation at the Sense Spa.

A haven of peace dedicated to relaxation and well-being : it's the ideal place to recharge your body and soul. The spa has a swimming pool, and is decorated in a harmonious way, with a high white roof, clean lines and a predominance of wood. Several treatment rooms allow you to take full advantage of luxurious, personalized treatments and wellness experiences, provided by a warm expert team. I had the great pleasure of meeting the Spa Director, who introduced me to the excellent range of treatments EVIDENS! And a special mention for the lovely Agnès who looked after my hair!

I had a truly enchanting stay at Rosewood le Guanahani. In my opinion, this resort offers an incredible experience combining French elegance and Caribbean charm.

I would like to highlight the kindness and professionalism of the team, whether at the concierge desk (Manon, Mathis and Stephan, who organized all the bookings for us), in the island’s various restaurants or by the pool or beach.

A special mention for Martein, the hotel's General Manager, whom I met and spent a pleasant evening talking about travel and inspiring places... Dear Martein: Bravo to you and the whole team!

In conclusion, I'd say that Rosewood le Guanahani is for anyone looking for an emblematic and refined place on the incredible island of Saint-Barthélemy!
